Fingerfood

Finger food covers small, bite-sized dishes eaten without cutlery – perfect for cocktail parties, meetings, trade fairs and receptions.

egora Catering-Lexikon

Finger food refers to bite-sized morsels that can be eaten standing up and without cutlery – ideal for a wide range of events such as cocktail parties, meetings, trade fairs, company celebrations, cultural events, exhibitions and galas. The portion sizes can be individually adapted to the occasion.

Portion sizes and menu selection

The recommended number of finger food pieces per person varies according to the occasion:

  • For small receptions: 2–4 pieces
  • For snacks: 5–7 pieces
  • For buffets: 10–12 pieces

egora offers standardised menus such as Basic, Classic and Premium, as well as à la carte options. Special themed buffets can be prepared for holidays such as Halloween, Christmas and New Year’s Eve.

Dishes and selection options

Typical components are skewers, mini burgers, vegetable sticks and canapés made from meat, fish and vegetarian options. Popular ideas include mozzarella balls with cherry tomatoes and basil, feta cubes with olives, melon with ham, as well as classics such as mini wraps, open sandwiches and meatballs. Meat options include rissoles, mini schnitzels and chicken fingers in a sesame coating. A creative variant is mini rösti with salmon, made from waxy potatoes, courgette and crème fraîche. Sweet treats such as cookies and mousse au chocolat round off the offering.

Vegetarian and vegan options

Vegetarian options include cheese and vegetables, feta or goat’s cheese, and pulses such as lentils. Vegan options include bread with hummus, vegetable sticks, falafel and puff-pastry swirls. Small bowls for dips, napkins and paper plates are part of the well-considered presentation.
